What's the process to port my phone number to magicJack for BUSINESS?

Modified on Sun, 23 Jun at 11:54 PM

To start the porting process, we will need you to provide the phone number(s) you wish to port, as well as account information for your current provider (for example: the name of the provider, your account number, passcode (if applicable), authorized account holder, and your address). It is very important that you DO NOT CANCEL your existing account until the port to magicJack for BUSINESS has been completed.

A Letter of Authorization ("LOA") document will be provided via email for you to complete. For phone numbers porting from non-magicJack providers, a copy of your most recent phone bill will need to be supplied alongside the completed LOA. For numbers porting from magicJack, only the LOA must be completed. The porting process begins after all required documentation has been received.

Assuming all provided information is correct, the porting process typically takes 7-14 business days to complete for non-magicJack providers and 3-5 business days for numbers porting from magicJack. Ports from certain providers may take longer than others, but rest assured all ports will be completed as fast as possible.

While the phone number porting process is underway, we will provide you with a temporary phone number on the magicJack for BUSINESS system. You can forward your current (porting) number to that temporary number to start using our services immediately, even before the number port is complete.

Upon successful port completion, we will notify you via email. At that time, you can safely cancel your account with your previous provider*.

*You may be subject to additional charges for canceling such services, which you are solely responsible for paying.
