Shared Phone Book

If you acquired desk phone devices from magicJack for BUSINESS, you can enable phone book directory feature to sync your magicJack for BUSINESS mobile app contacts with your desk devices, and across all devices associated with your account.


When enabled, phone book will periodically download the contacts list that you or your employees upload to your business shared phone book. 



Phone book is always available and enabled on the magicJack for BUSINESS mobile apps, however requires explicit activation per a desk device.


How do I enable or disable phone book?

  1. Login to your magicJack for BUSINESS self-care portal.
  2. If you are Admin, navigate to Manage Lines. Then click the SETTINGS button next to each line you have a desk device for. Then move to the Devices tab.
  3. If you are User, navigate directly to Devices tab.
  4. Next to any desk phone device, a PHONE BOOK toggle switch will be available.
  5. Click the toggle switch to enable or to disable availability of shared phone book on this device.
  6. Operation must be repeated for each device separately.

How do I use phone book on my Yealink device?

  1. On your desk phone device, press the Directories (Dir) soft key.
  2. Press the down key to select Remote Phone Book.
  3. An entry with your business name would be listed - press it.
  4. The phone will load the list of contact currently loaded to your business phone book.


How do I use phone book on my Yealink W56 Cordless device?

  1. On your W56 handset, press the OK button.
  2. Move the cursor to select the Directory icon, and press OK again.
  3. Move the cursor down to highlight your business name entry.
  4. Press OK again to load and display the contacts list.


How to I add or remove contacts from the phone book?

This option is currently available only via the magicJack for BUSINESS mobile applications.

My business name is not showing up in the list

In some cases, your business name might not appear, and instead you will see "Your Phone Book" listed under remote phone book. 

Your phone book feature will continue to function normally even in this condition. Contact us for assistance, include your business name or account number for faster response.

It usually take 24-48 hours to have this issue resolved remotely, no further actions required.


PHONE BOOK Toggle switch not displayed next to my device

If any of your desk phone devices is not showing a PHONE BOOK option, contact us for assistance, include your business name or account number for faster response. It usually take 24-48 hours to have this issue resolved remotely, no further actions required.


As stated above, phone book is always available and enabled on the magicJack for BUSINESS mobile applications and PHONE BOOK toggle switch is not display for them on the devices list.
